Sharing Hope Across Continents: A Special Lecture on Uganda

At Child’s Life Foundation Uganda, we believe that storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to inspire change. Every story shared brings us one step closer to a world where every child is seen, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.
We are honored to be part of an upcoming lecture by Jelena Unger, titled “Uganda: Volunteer Experience in an Orphanage.” This special event will take place on Friday, 17th April 2026, starting at 6:00 PM, at the Fran Galović Library and Reading Room, in the Makerspace area on the first floor.

Jelena’s journey is one of compassion and discovery. Her passion for travel has, over the years, grown into a deep commitment to volunteering in African orphanages. Through her visits to Uganda, she has witnessed firsthand the realities faced by millions of vulnerable children. In collaboration with Child’s Life Foundation Uganda, she has contributed directly to supporting children and communities, gaining meaningful experiences that continue to shape her mission.
During this lecture, attendees will have the opportunity to hear real-life stories from the ground stories that highlight both the challenges and the resilience of children growing up in difficult circumstances. It is a chance to better understand the realities of life for many children in Africa and how collective action can create lasting change.

As part of this initiative, a charity concert will also be held on 29th April 2026 at the Domoljub Hall. The concert will feature the choir “Rima,” led by musician Romana Pavliša, alongside guest performers. This event aims to raise funds in support of children in Uganda and further strengthen the impact of this meaningful collaboration.
We warmly invite everyone in the community to attend the lecture at the Fran Galović Library and gain firsthand insight into the lives of children in Africa. Together, through awareness and action, we can help shape a brighter future.
