With so many volunteering opportunities across Africa, his choice wasn’t easy. But something about Child’s Life Foundation Uganda stood out. It was the clear vision, the genuine passion of the leadership, and the rare opportunity to be part of something open something he could help shape, not just follow.
That decision would soon turn into an unforgettable chapter of his life.
From the very beginning, Peter found himself surrounded by warmth.
The community welcomed him with kindness, appreciation, and open hearts. Every day brought something new new lessons, new friendships, and new perspectives.
But it was the children who truly transformed his experience.
Through teaching, Peter discovered that learning is never one-sided. While he shared his knowledge, the children gave him something just as powerful in return joy, resilience, and a deeper understanding of life. Their energy, curiosity, and gratitude left a lasting mark on him.
What started as his first volunteering experience quickly became something much more meaningful.
Beyond the classroom, Peter’s impact reached even further. Deeply moved by the mission of the foundation, he extended his support back home mobilizing donations from his sisters, family members, and friends across Germany.
What started as a personal effort quickly became a collective act of kindness, helping to raise funds for the school and support its continued growth. Through this, Peter connected two communities across continents, turning compassion into real, lasting impact.
As his time with CLF Uganda came to an end, it didn’t feel like a goodbye. Instead, it felt like the beginning of a lifelong connection. Peter left knowing that this was not the end of his journey but a pause.
A promise remained in his heart:
He will be back.
To stay.
To learn.
To teach.
To continue growing as part of an incredible community that now feels like home.
