Hi, I'm Sarah

At that time, Mukhono Sarah was only 2–3 years old.

She was living with her mother, as her parents had separated when she was just one year old. After the separation, her mother worked as a laborer, with only one day off each week, trying her best to provide for them. They lived together in a small rented house.

Every morning, her mother would go to work and leave Sarah in the care of a friend. Despite her efforts, the family struggled financially, and it was difficult to meet their daily needs.

Tragically, one day the father returned home and got into a serious conflict with the mother. The situation turned violent and ended in a devastating loss the mother lost her life.

Although the father claimed it was an accident during a disagreement, he was later arrested, charged with murder, and sentenced to 47 years in prison.

The loss left Sarah without parental care at a very young age.

The mother was a friend of one of the Child’s Life Foundation Uganda team members, who then stepped in to take responsibility for Sarah.

Following this, the local municipality recommended that CLF Uganda support the child’s care and well-being.
