Hi, I'm Sarah
At that time Mukhono Sarah was an 2-3year-old . The child was under the care of her mother alone, as her parents had separated when she was one year old. After the separation, her mother worked as a laborer and had only one day off per week. The family rented a house mother and daughter. Every morning, the mother would go to work and drop off the child at a friend's place. The family's income was not sufficient to cover their expenses, and they were struggling financially until one day, the father came home and had some wrangles with the mother which ended up so so bad leaving the woman dead, and this marked that the father had killed the mother, even though the father denied that it was just an accident when the woman knocked herself down when there were trying to exchange words and little fights.
The man was arrested and charged with human murder and sentenced to 47yrs of imprisonment. It happened that the woman killed was a friend to one of CLF Uganda officials and decided to take responsibility of caring for Sarah, thus the local municipality recommended they seek our support on the child's care.
